As a kid growing up in West Des Moines, Iowa I couldn't keep myself from collecting cool stuff like beads, pine cones, funky
bits of driftwood, ribbons and wire.
That lead me to exploring lots of different mediums from lamp-work glass beads, stained glass, paper making, tie-dyeing, wood
burning, sewing and the fine art of pine cone wreath making. I found one of my true passion at the age of twelve when my mom
signed me up for a ceramics class at the Des Moines Art Center. I fell in love with clay and the endless possibilities that it offered
me.
I never lost that childhood desire to create and continued to take classes during high school and went on to concentrate in
ceramics at Iowa State University. It was there that I become a true artist.
Being able to focus heavily on ceramics during my college years, having a wonderful art professor and supporting parents, truly
encouraged my dreams. I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Iowa State University in 2003.
At the end of that summer I moved to Colorado and made Fort Collins my home. I'm currently producing my glass jewelry in my
home studio. While my pottery; I make at the Northern Colorado Potters Guild.
I have taught adult and kids classes at the Parks and Rec pottery studio for the city of Fort Collins. I am continually teaching
glass fusing workshops, and hold the manager position at Trimble Court Artisans, my local co-op art gallery here in Fort Collins.
I am constantly busy jumping back and forth between my fused glass jewelry, pottery, painting, sewing, wood burning and all the
other crafty things I can't get enough of. I love it and would have it no other way.
